Southwest Marine Co. will sell your boat for a 10% fee of the selling price with a minimum of $500.00 for rigs under $5,000.00. There will be an initial nonrefundable charge of  $250.00 that will be applied to the 10% fee when the boat is sold.  What you will receive for the consignment fee is a motor evaluation, help in determining a fair price, the boat will be on our website with ten to twenty pictures and a write up detailing the features of the boat, the boat will be personally shown during our hours of operation (6-7 days a week depending on the time of year). Your boat will also be listed on Boats.com and Iboats.com. (boat search engines).  Financing is available to qualified buyers. Once the price is set it cannot be changed without the prior approval of the owner.

The following guidelines apply:

Boats must be 1995 or newer, 16'-23' with trailer (Older boats judged on a case by case basis)

Boats must have solid floors with no soft spots. Upholstery has to be in relatively good shape or easily fixable.  Hulls have to be in relatively good condition with no major defects. Owners must disclose any and all defects in the boat. Trailer lights have to be in working condition or repaired at the owners expense before consigned.  

Only boats with Mercury or Force Outboards or Mercruisers can be consigned (OMC Cobra is handled on a case by case basis). If a motor found to need a repair, the repair is done at the owners expense if they want to consign the boat.  The motor must be in running condition for the boat to be consigned. 

Owner must provide accurate clear title work with lien releases if applicable.  All persons listed on titles must be present and available to sign the boat over to the next owner.  A Kansas boat rig  must have a Kansas trailer title before it can be consigned.  We can advise you how to get a title quickly in Kansas (one week or less). Missouri rigs must have titles for boat, outboard motor (if applicable) and trailer in the consignors name in order to be consigned.

Boat cleaning, motor repair, minor upholstery and cover repair is available and quoted on a case by case basis.
